Brain cancer symptoms are often caused by a tumor pressing down on sensitive brain folds, causing them to malfunction in their areas of expertise, such as balance or vision. Other times, symptoms of brain cancer are caused from brain inflammation around the tumor itself. Early detection is important to stop cancer from spreading and start the road to treatment and recovery.

Common brain cancer symptoms

Not all brain cancers have symptoms, let alone the same sort of symptoms from patient to patient. Diagnostic tests run by a physician are the only real way to determine a case of brain cancer. Many patients exhibit various symptoms such as headaches of increasing intensity, vision or balance issues, sudden difficulties with speech and seemingly random changes in intellectual capacity or personality.

How sudden do brain cancer symptoms appear?

It is possible that some patients start to exhibit symptoms at such a slow rate that they or their family members do not notice changes at all, or else attribute the physical or mental changes to a general sense of stress or fatigue. Other patients show symptoms so rapidly and dramatically that they may originally present as a stroke patient.

It is important to realize that not all brain cancer patients share the same set of symptoms and some people with multiple symptoms do not have brain cancer at all. It is crucial to discuss your symptoms and warning signs with your doctor if you routinely experience one or more of the above mentioned brain cancer symptoms.
