If you do develop problems with mucositis continuing mouth care will help you to recover sooner. Since the cells in the mouth turn over rapidly, mucositis usually improves fairly quickly. How long mucositis takes o heal will depend upon how severe it is. Treating the symptoms you experience will help you to feel better.
